Why I make art?I make art because I need it to feel alive.
Creating has always been how I process my emotions and make sense of the world around me. It's how I hold onto moments that might otherwise fade. A quiet morning spent fishing, an interesting bird spotted on a hike, a family story passed down through generations, or a conversation that changed the way I see things. Through art, those fragments become something tangible that can be carried forward.
Whether I'm tattooing someone's skin, painting a mural, creating a painting, or working on a new illustration, I'm always trying to preserve a feeling, a memory, or a connection to a particular place and time.
I've never wanted children, so I've often thought about legacy a little differently. The things I'll leave behind won't be family heirlooms. They'll be the murals painted onto walls, the artwork hanging in someone's home, and the tattoos that become part of another person's story. There's something incredibly meaningful to me about creating work that continues to live with people long after I've finished making it.
Life Outside the Studio
Curiosity has always been my compass.
When I'm not creating, you'll usually find me hiking, fishing, identifying new bird and plant species, collecting interesting rocks, or filling journals with observations, sketches, and the unexpected moments of connection that appear throughout everyday life.
Those moments of curiosity have become one of the biggest influences on my work. Folk art, heritage, wildlife, landscapes, and the details many people overlook all find their way back into my tattoos, murals, paintings, and illustrations.
For me, inspiration rarely arrives while sitting at a desk.
It comes from paying attention.

I'm a Hamilton-born, Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artist working across tattooing, murals, painting, illustration, and public art.
In recent years, my tattoo practice has become a way of reconnecting with my Ukrainian, Polish, and Russian heritage. Through ornamental design, folk art, botanical imagery, and storytelling, I love creating work that feels deeply personal and connected to the people who experience it.
Over the years, my work has taken me across Canada, the United States, Mexico, Peru, Central America, and South Africa, creating murals, public art, and meaningful collaborations along the way.
Whether I'm working on skin, a wall, or a canvas, my goal is always the same: to create thoughtful work that helps people feel connected to a place, a memory, or a story worth carrying forward.
