Biography
Ceeboots, known as Christina Hryc, is a Hamilton-born and Vancouver-based multidisciplinary artist whose body of work encompasses tattooing, graphic design, street art, murals, and painting. Recently, her tattoo practice has evolved to embrace folk art and ornamental designs, allowing her to forge a deeper connection with her Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish heritage.
Her distinctive style features fluid line drawings complemented by vibrant colour palettes and intricate floral and ornamental motifs, drawing inspiration from her deep appreciation for street art as a dynamic form of expression, personal nostalgia, queer identity, and diverse cultural narratives. Christina’s fascination with the fauna and insects she encounters during her travels adds a rich, naturalistic dimension to her work, further enhancing its depth and complexity.
With a profound interest in the natural world and an avid spirit of exploration, Christina has executed murals in diverse locales, including the US, Central America, Mexico, Peru, South Africa, and Canada.
Through her art, Christina fosters engaging and inclusive dialogues about the intersections of art, identity, and social justice, advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and promoting meaningful change in the world.
